I am here. I’m a 29 year old woman but something about that boy makes me just want to spank him! He’s been naughty I can tell! Bad bad little hobbit! Sorry but Legolas does nothing for me. I can’t have lustful thoughts about a man who has better hair than I do!
I’ve had a mad crush on Sean Bean since he was Richard Sharpe, so mark me down in the Boromir category.
It’s Elijah Wood’s eyes. And his hands (but don’t get me started on hands…) That’s what does it (except I prefer Samwise…what’s that actor?.. because I prefer a man I can’t break in half.)
And, I’m sorry, but Orlando Bloom/Legolas just doesn’t trip my heart. He’s so…so…Hollywood Pretty. Now, his skill with that bow OTOH…drooooooooool
I watched FOTR again last night with two utter Boromir fans. One of them pretended to panic with lust every time he came on screen. I admit, he is cute. So is Legolas. The way he fights… (swoon)
Actually, they’re all cute. Guys with swords are hot.
And long hair. And cool clothes. Those’re important too.
And bows and arrows, and guns… (maybe the guns part isn’t PC but oh do I love movies about hitmen and/or the FBI…)
Although, I will say that the movie did disappoint me in that there wasn’t a single woman among the fellowship. Lots of guys to look at is good, but I’m used to fantasy with at least one chick along for the whole adventure, so it seemed a little odd to me. Oh well, I liked it so much more than the books, which I refuse to try to read again, so I suppose I should be happy with that, and not expect prefection.
Well elf, the movie was based on the book. There are no women in the Fellowship. I know I’d have been pissed as all hell if they made such a drastic change in the story.
Aragorn for me, thanks - even when I only knew him from the books. He’s got that “weathered to perfection” look about him, and I love that he’s so soft spoken.
Melts my butter I tells ya!
Hmmm, perhaps we should direct the fellas here the next time one of them starts a thread entitled “What do women want in a man?”
Poor Gimli, will no one speak up for Gimli? Ok, me neither, but I do love John Rhys-Davies’ voice. I have ever since he played Sallah in Raiders Of The Lost Ark. JRD will be voicing 2 characters in The Two Towers, Gimli and Treebeard.
I’m an Aragorn lady myself too, though I understand the Legolas and Boromir lusting.
I can’t wait for The Two Towers. I already have a healthy lust thing for Eomer, even though all I’ve seen of him is what’s shown in the previews. Boromir’s brother Faramir should get some hearts beating fast too, once we see him without that helmet.
Oh, December can’t come fast enough!
(At least we’ll have the Extended DVD in November)
Ah, yes-the beauty of Legolas.
Eat your hearts out, girls-
Mr. Singular has long straight thick blond hair (ribcage length), blue eyes and delicate features and a compound bow! He’s more muscular than Legolas, tho (which is a plus). When we left the theater, people were actually ponting at him and whispering little elfin gossip.
He’s the lord of my ring-
but I still drool over Orlando, too. I guess Mr. Singular could be his dad…
Legolas, Boromir, Frodo, all hotties…even Merry and Pippin were cute!
Arangorn?..Don’t care much about him, mainly because it is a character I dislike in the book. No matter how good looking he is, I dislike his character so much I don’t see the beauty.
Faramir should be as good looking as Boromir, at least, seeing that they were brothers…
I’d be the filling in an Aragorn/Samwise sandwich. Those two were smoking! Sean Bean is a handosme man, but his Boromir getup didn’t do it for me. Ditto Orlando Bloom. The wifty, girly, elf look is not a turnon. I’d do Merry and Pippn in a heartbeat, though. Mmmm, hobbits.
Oh Biggir…I forgot to say that all your comments about Hugo have kept me laughing this morning…
(schoolroom bragging voice) Oh, yeah, singular1? My fiance looks like Legolas too, but with dark hair… and he plays with swords.
After we saw FOTR the first time, there was a strong “dye your hair” contingent among the people we saw it with.
<Humphf!> In the middle of my post whilest searching for something 6 million pop-ups appeared and crashed my browser–now I must start again.
As I was saying:

Oh my dog! Was I laughing so hard at this–not you, of course–just your word selection. Sheer amusement.
Now…Shhhhhh! Me SO may be lurkin’ about, but…
That Billy Boyd “Pippin” is all that and a bag of chips in my book. Something about that accent, those green eyes and the shape of his mouth just does me in. Also, in the third photo on this page, he reminds me of Irishman, Glenn Quinn, “Doyle,” (may he RIP) on TV’s Angel, who is “hottie” (as they say) himself.
From what I could see in the trailer, he’s quite hot. And he actually looks related to Sean Bean. This is a good thing. A very good thing.
Friends of mine who never usually go for feminine guys were woozy over Legolas. You know that the actor got so adept with the bow and arrow, that they had to ask him to slow down the reloading for the movie, or the eye wouldn’t be able to follow it on screen? Elijah Wood has the most fascinating features. Including the boxer’s neck. I’m not so sure about Aragorn, personally. Sure, I’m gay and perhaps not the best judge, but he’s just so hairy and dirty! I kept wishing he’d fall in the river just to get a bit cleaner!
I’m watching the movie again right this moment, and though there are only two female characters, they are both highly fantasy-worthy (in all senses of the word). They couldn’t ever have picked a better actress for Galadriel than Cate Blanchett; not many people can carry off ‘noble resignation’ and still give the impression that they are holding down an incredible well of power inside themselves. And she’s not so bad to look at, either. Arwen gets better on every viewing, especially in the scene where she’s outriding the ring-wraiths (even though that wasn’t in the book).
I haven’t read the Two Towers yet. What are the female roles in that one like? Do we get to see more of Galadriel?
Not much of Galadriel. Eowyn is the main female character that appears in that book. Strong willed, a warrior…pretty, too.
Mmmmm…Eowyn. She’s played by Miranda Otto in the upcoming movie. Nice to have some more female eye-candy, although I doubt she can compare to Cate Blanchett’s ethereal beauty.
Thinks about the Fellowship
