He quit.
And then his band dumped him.
In movies (spoilers for mostly older movies):
Cabaret: Sally has an abortion after much deliberation. She pays for it by selling a fur coat.
The Last American Virgin: the title character (a guy) pays for an abortion for a girl he likes, who is pregnant with another guy’s baby. He sells his stereo to pay for it.
High Fidelity: John Cusack’s character’s girlfriend had an abortion before the main action of the movie after she discovered he’d cheated on her. He didn’t know she was pregnant when he cheated, and she didn’t tell him about the abortion until after the fact.
On TV:
A teenaged character on Degrassi: The Next Generation had an abortion, but the episodes dealing with it only aired in Canada, not the US.
I seem to recall Helen Mirren’s character in the *Prime Suspect * series (made for British TV, but it aired on PBS) having an abortion.
Sorry for the hijack; this probably should be its own thread.
Not quite. He said he would “consider quitting” if he couldn’t get the time off because the opportunity to go record was too good to pass up. Weaver then called his bluff and accepted his resignation.
Not really. She said sometihng to the effect of “Resignation accepted”
And then, the band drops him. He’s in the previews, so apparently he was able to retract the resignation that he didn’t formally make.
Claire Fisher had an abortion on Six Feet Under.
And then I laughed and laughed and laughed.
Didn’t Faith have an abortion on Third Watch?
Yep, and then she let her husband think she miscarried because a suspect punched her in the stomach.
I believe Abby has said that she had an abortion in the past. I think it was an episode with her mother and her mother was telling her she’d feel differently about having kids once she was pregnant and Abby said she had been pregnant and had an abortion because she didn’t want to bring a kid into her crazy family. I believe at the time she was married or had just seperated. I don’t think she ever told her ex, but I don’t remember if that was even mentioned.
Neela and Gallant - yeah, someone mentioned it up there already, and I have to agree that there was a tiny bit of conversation about him having to go a long ways away to continue his MD training. So I’m guessing that’s gonna be the big problem next week.
I like John Leguizamo most of the time but this role is laughable. Seriously, does anyone know any doctor who would act the way he does?
