ER made me cry tonight

The plane crash was a gimmick, as was Neela running into a burning building, but it wasn’t a completely terrible episode.

Helah (sp) is back and Eve approves – that was good.

That last little conversation between Abby and Kovac was irritating, but it’s understandable that maybe neither of them are ready to be together again so soon. It was nice seeing Kovac smile again though.

I cried when the guy with the bad heart put his hand over Pratt’s, and then took his girlfriend’s hand and, sob, died. ER is best when it’s low-key and a bit subtle.

While I didn’t cry, it did tug at my heart a bit.

It really wasn’t too bad tonight. And Kovach, man he really does look pretty when he smiles, doesn’t he?

They really tricked me too, with Kristen Johnson…thought she was a goner.

I’m really looking forward to next episode’s happy theme for a change.

What happened with Haleh? Obviously she needed to be brought back. But I missed her leaving. What was the deal there?

Eve made what’s-her-face (Kovac’s “ex”) fire her last week for working overtime when she told her not to.

Eve (the new tall Head Nurse) had her fired for working too much overtime.

Oh… I see that question has already been answered. :smack:

It is always nice when they are not creating plot lines about children dying.

The part that got me was when Neela went home, still on her adrenaline high, and saw Gallant. When she ran into his arms and hugged him, I teared up a little.

Me too, again. When she paused in her doorway, my first thought was “Uh oh, she’s going to collapse and die now.”

I missed that! I didn’t even think that one of those planes might have been hers. I’m glad they didn’t go there.

Is John Stamos’ character going to give up hitting on Neela now? For awhile, it looked like he was making some headway. She didn’t even get mad at him when he kept moving the ambulance as she was trying to get in.

I wonder if Neela’s heady experience “in the field” means anything for future stories. That was some good acting there, when she described what it felt like.

Did they mention why the plane went down? We saw it going down in flames, so I thought there was a collision, but I never really heard.

They definitely showed a collision between the jet and a smaller plane, as Pratt was watching the helicopter take off. I think they were teasing us with the possibility of another incident involving a lifeflight helicopter on that roof.

I believe it was struck by a Flying MacGuffin. :stuck_out_tongue:

There was a microscopic “voice over” from the TV saying something about a pilot losing control. Someone in the room (Frank, perhaps) said something to the effect of “So much for terrorists”

Yeah, they showed her with a red roll-aboard bag at the beginning, then at the crash site, showed a wrecked red roll-aboard bag. Very sneaky.

I was very surprised at the end that nobody from the staff was killed off or even severly injured. That’s just not normal for them.

Absolutely. All Pratt had to say was “I’m sorry,” and no other dialogue was needed or warranted. Very moving scene.

I thought I had heard that he was only going to be on for a couple of eps. Apparently they are still making more “Jake in Progress” installments.

It was an extremely touching episode,

Perfectly functional planes. BOTH trashed into worthless debris! The (in)humanity of it!

I didn’t cry, but I came close. Oh, Og, the waste!

Unless of course you count John Stamos’ character. He went so far as to have surgery at the crash site!

Is Linda Cardellini still on the show? I’ve never seen her in it, but she was so great in “Freaks and Geeks” that I’ve been wondering how she is in ER.

She’s still there. Her story line was pretty decent until they soaped it up. She’s portrayed as a talented nurse with a problematic private life. Husband (or boyfriend) in prison, problems with a pre-teen diabetic son, and she and Luka were together for awhile.

Is anyone else staring to think that this is the worst hospital in the world? All of the patients (at least the ones that get focus) seem to die.

Can we have just one or two happy storylines? Last week (with the kidnapped girl dying) nearly killed me!
