I wonder if Ansom’s procedure was more of a rezzing than an uncroaking. And if he retains his status as heir to the throne of Jetstone.
I’m quite probably a weird creep - but I can’t help thinking “royal radish” is some sort of unknown-to-me innuendo. In-your-endo ! ![]()
I thinks that he’s been ‘raised’ rather than ‘uncroaked’ is pretty obvious. The fact that he was able to ask that question is a dead giveaway. His eyes are blue, not white like all the other uncroaked. IIRC (I don’t wanna spend the hours it would take to look at older comics on that site) only main characters have colored eyed. Also, look at the spell she used, ‘Decrypt’. As in ‘uncrypt’? He’s been raised, but has switched sides. He’s got skulls on his suit now, is it because he’s being controlled by Wanda, or because he’s on Wanda’s side?
The other two Arkentools apparently give special units when attuned (Stanley’s dwagons, Charlie’s archons), so Ansom is probably of the special unit type of the Arkenpliers.
And, yeah, the skulls are probably Wanda’s symbol. Just as, before, when she uncroaked all the Jetstone dead their livery switched from Jetstone’s radishes to Parson’s Hamstard.
:smack: :smack: :smack: :smack:
Would you believe I just got the pun in Hamstard ?
Took me about 150 strips. The skull-shaped indentation in my wall won’t be enough, I think.
ETA : I mean, I got hamster+retard, but Amstrad ? Can’t be a coincidence.
Implying, then, that Wanda is of the same special unit type? 'Cos she attuned to the pliers before she resurrected Ansom. If she’d resurrected Ansom and then attuned to the pliers, I’d think she was leeching attunement from Ansom; clearly that’s not the case.
No. Wanda was a caster unit. Stanley was a warlord unit. Charlie… well, let’s just assume he was a caster unit. They attuned to an Arkentool, and each have access to a special unit type through their Arkentool.
Charlie is not an archon. Stanley is not a dwagon. And Wanda is not a… decrypt thing.
Ansom was never attuned to the Arkenpliers; there was no attunement to “leech”.
So what are people’s theories on Charlie? Parson has absolutely no reason to trust him after what he pulled before, so it will be interesting to see what Charlie tries to do to get the mathemancy device. Charlie seems to be neutral, sort of a mercenary side, but clearly has a preference as to which side he prefers. He’s got some stupidly powerful magic not even counting the archons, but isn’t out kicking ass and taking cities. After seeing what 3 archons did to all those dwagons I have no doubt he could do it. So what’s Charlie’s deal? And what’s he gonna do next?
For now, he probably thinks Parson and the artifact were at ground zero, and gone. When he eventually finds out otherwise… well, for starters, Parson still owes him a few calculations.
As for his overall plans – he doesn’t seem to be interested in territory, just money and things that can make more money (like Parson’s strategic skills and the Mathemancy artifact).
I like the theory that Charlie is from Parson’s world, thus accounting for why he is so “strange”, and why he understands Parson’s leetspeek on the eyebook.
If nothing else, I think he is at least aware of Parson’s world. After all, the Arkendish is a satellite dish… Charlie probably gets a lot of channels on that thing, and I’d bet some of 'em are from Earth.
While you’re waiting for updates, it’s worth checking out Rob Balder’s other strip, PartiallyClips, if you haven’t already.
Is that a dwagon I see up there? Coming in for a landing? Could be interesting.
There was one just flying overhead in the previous comic. I think that’s all we’re seeing.
The Tool is on his way there, though. It will be interesting soon enough.
I wonder if Charles knows about the decryption? Information seems to be his thing.
A new dwagon popped at the start of their turn here. Well that would have been booping useful.
Um, Wanda is really freaking powerful now. If she has access to two dead armies she can uncroak… She wins basically.
Holy boop. I think she found the God Mode Parson was looking for
Bloody hell. So when Stanley comes back, (assuming Wanda stays loyal) he’ll find:
- the entirety of the attacking force has been destroyed
- he has an new non-decaying, zero-upkeep uncroaked army
- his nemesis is now completely under his control
- he’s (probably) got the richest city in Erfworld
- his casters have levelled up
- oh, and he’s got a new dwagon
I think he might forgive Parson and Co. the odd bit of structural damage, considering.
:smack: I totally missed the fact that the city was creating a new dwagon at the beginning of the turn. I thought it had just wandered in.
That’s assuming Parson and Co. don’t use their new zero upkeep army, vast riches, levelled casters and dwagon to spank him. Parson may be tied by the summoning spell, but Wanda isn’t… and she’s the one who cast the spell.
