Wait, you’re going to tell a random guest the name of another random guest who has asked for a specific room? That’s not going to fly.
I can - once.
(But there is usually no-one else at the desk; I tend to check in late.)
No hotel has ever confirmed some one else has checked in, even for company holiday parties or weddings.
(Though I’ve had those odd conversations - “Will you ring my co-worker’s room and tell him I’ve checked in?” “I can’t confirmed your co-worker is here.” “I know, just let him know, please.”)
Well, if guest #2 is demanding to be housed next door to guest #1, by name, and claiming they know each other, doesn’t strike me as any bigger a security problem than simply telling guest #2 “sure, no problem” while guest #1 remains unaware of the stalker/angry ex/other security problem who just demanded to be near them.
No need. Ask them if they’re expecting someone. If they say yes, ask the name of who they’re expecting.
