Ths thread got me wondering:
What’s your favorite erotic yet non-pornographic (what ever that means to you) movie.
My vote goes to “The Unbearable Lightness of Being.”

Wasn’t that movie called ‘The Unbearable length of this movie’?
Just kidding you but man that movie is long.
Movies that made me long
Body Double
Body Heat
Bye Bye Birdie (it’s a personal thing)
Crash (though some might say it is pornographic)
Bound - On Video or DVD, it loses alot on Network TV, with being edited for Television.
9 1/2 Weeks - One Video or DVD, also loses alot on Network TV,

Do soft-core movies count? If so, I nominate Emmanuelle and Young Lady Chatterley). Erotic without being too adolescent or silly.
Or are you looking for more mainstream/studio releases?
Okay, I’ll weigh in -
Lake Consequence
Two-Moon Junction and
Return to Two Moon Junction
I think that’s it.
Actually, I am really interested in hearing other people’s opinions on this, since I have been looking for some of the genre for myself.
I’d have to second the Unbearable Lightness of Being as my fav, though, (and yes I know board members my disagree) but I also love Fall, (Eric Schaeffer).
Ok I’ll limit it to movies with no nudity or really overt sex. Yet, somehow I will be very tasteless.
Double Indemnity…Fred MacMurray in something erotic?? Well he had to get those three sons somehow…
Anyway I think we all know there was something more to that ankle bracelet than met his eye.
Naked Gun…say what? Well to me seeing Priscilla Presley’s ‘beaver’ and later watching her in a body condom made my year.
To Have and Have not …when Lauren Bacall tells Bogie how to whistle. Whoa!
I completely forgot about “To Have or Have Not” I second that wholeheatedly!
I completely forgot about “To Have or Have Not” I second that wholeheartedly!

and third it. and fourth it!
I love erotic movies. Hell, I’ll take one any day over standard porn, which I feel is too graphic and overindulgent. If I wanted to see close-ups of genitals I could look at an anatomy book (or examine my own personal specimen). Give me some plot! Some maturity, intrigue, and passion! Sex is more than just plumbing!
I’ll have to agree. Those movies introduced me to the mystique and beauty of the female form when I was an adolescent. Back then I used to sneak downstairs into the living room to watch Showtime or Cinemax at 2 AM when my parents were sleeping. I remember stumbling across Emmanuelle for the first time – I couldn’t have been more than eleven or twelve at the time – and seeing her and another woman getting it on in some exotic locale like Bangkok or Singapore. My eyes just about popped out of my head. I had no idea women could do such… amazing things.
Coincidentally I think that’s about the time I truly got a handle on the art self-pleasuring. Now, of course, I’m an expert. But I have to thank Emmanuelle for giving me a head start.
im going to have to go with the 1992 ken russell version of ‘lady chatterleys lover’ starring sean bean and joely richardson.
The Rainbow; another Ken Russell movie.
Sirens. Kind of a silly movie, but very sensuous.
Vertigo. Kim Novak is unforgettable. Of course, it’s not exactly a healthy sort of eroticism, but Jimmy Stewart’s obsession is very well communicated.
The Seven Year Itch. Marilyn Monroe at her good-natured, artlessly sensuous best.
Henry and June
The Lover
Wild Side. The love scene with Ann Heche and Joan Chen was scorching…
Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human.
No nudity, but some definite “interesting” moments.
The love scene in Don’t Look Now with Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie - WOW!
Well, having almost no access to true “porn” movies during my formative years, I’ve seen quite a few “Classy” erotic films. (Not that I wouldn’t have appreciated an occasional Lesbian Cyborg Slumber Party type film, but budget limitations are budget limitations. Damn it.)
Anyway, Bound, When Night is Falling, and Firelight have all stuck with me because, even aside from the “erotic” angle, they’re actually pretty good movies by themselves.
Hmmm.
Got to chime in on Young Lady Chatterley.
Sirens
Wifemistress
Carnal Knowledge.
All fond memories.
Mind you, I was always fond of some of the Bond girls, especially some of the earlier ones.
