I never saw the film, but I always heard how they butchered those scenes. I live less than a mile from the U of L sign, last I checked the airport is still south of there, and certainly south of the Ohio River. I guess they just wanted to show some driving and did not find the road to Elizabethtown to be as appealing.
There will be, soon enough. CBS is readying The Unit, a David Mamet show somewhat based on the life and times of Eric L. Haney, a founding member of 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment- Delta and the author of Inside Delta Force. As one of the principle writers and as a military consultant, he is on set every minute that military action is being filmed.
I did four years enlisted in the Navy and I see all kinds of things that make me want to yell at the screen.
Just recently I saw a scene with a military funeral. The pall bearers were Navy enlisted wearing dress whites. The Officer in Charge was in dress blues. WTF? Everybody wears blues or whites depending on the time of year at the same time.
Officers wearing kahki or cammo in the pentagon. WRONG.
The point is that it’s one thing to ask me to accept that there’s a secret car that has AI in it, and then there’s the attempt to get me to accept that turbos make cars jump, and that you can send electromagnetic waves that turn combination locks, and also don’t fry every piece of normal electronics in sight.
