Do any Dopers subscribe to this newspaper? I sent an e-mail to ELNA last week to find out if the newspaper is still being published, and, if so, what the address and subscription cost is. They never replied.
I’ll have a look at my latest membership info and let you know what’s up. Gotta dig it out first - will get back to you tomorrow. That OK?
Heroldo abonanto cxi-tie. A Heroldo subscriber here.
The newspaper is still being published 16 times a year, out of Switzerland by the Kooperativo de Literatura Foiro (“LF-Koop”; CP 928, CH-2301 La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland); subscriptions are available from ELNA, as you know, and other national organizations. I don’t see anything about Heroldo on the ELNA site, and there’s no website listed in the paper itself, but when I joined the Canadian Esperanto society, I got an order form for it and other periodicals.
General comments for others… Heroldo is rather unusual: it tends to be one or two large sheets of glossy paper. Like Eventoj out of Hungary, it covers mostly events in the Esperanto “movement”. However, if you’re looking to subscribe to just one Esperanto news publication, I recommend Monato, a monthly newsmagazine that covers world events, rather like Maclean’s or Time.
Dankojn al ambau.
I couldn’t find any information about Heroldo in ELNA’s website; perhaps Heroldo itself has a website; I’ll use the Netscape search engine for it. (I still don’t know how much a subscription costs, in whatever currency.)
