ESPN, get this scumbag on a leash!

Howyadoin,

I’m pissed off at a comment made by Robert Lipsyte on ESPN.com regarding a comparison between Boston and New York.

http://msn.espn.go.com/page2/s/bloc/031201.html

I couldn’t give a rat’s cornhole about the rest of his commentary, but the ever popular “Boston is a racist city” cheapshot is sooo fucking tired. I fired off a complaint to ESPN as follows:

Oh yeah, and he’s got the fucking nerve to call Boston arrogant compared to New York? Apparently I need to finish work on my alternate reality transporter so I can visit the one he’s in.

Well…it’s ancient history, but Boston was the last baseball team in the American League with a black player (Pumpsie Green, 1959), so it’s not like there isn’t a history, baseball-wise.

Other than that, truthfully, what difference does it make? It’s like taking a Big Mac over a Whopper. They both suck.

Howyadoin,

You said it, I didn’t… 1959.

I’ll also grant that the 1970’s weren’t a proud time in the history of Boston. We had our own race pimps, people like Louise Day Hicks and Jimmy Kelly firing up the poor whites that hadn’t the money to flee to the suburbs.

The New York references I made (Louima, etc.) were all in the last 10-15 years.

Hmmm…Senators Chuck Schumer, Hilary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry.

Do Boston and New York really argue about who uses race cards?!?

Though Al Sharpton is in NY so I guess the class scale tips slightly to Beantown.

BTW, one more reason to avoid the 4-letter network in favor of Fox Sports Radior or Sporting News
