Ok, did you all catch that story on “Entertainment Tonight”? Mama Cass Elliott did not choke to death on a ham sandwich. Of course, the way I heard it, I thought it was a chicken bone. Anyway, another UL debunked!

Just wondering how many others heard the chicken bone vs. ham sandwich version.

Who is the father of Mama Cass’ daughter?
One of the “Papas”? I heard that, whatever relationship Mama Cass might have hoped within the group, didn’t fly.
I only got to see the previews of the show.
I clearly remember where I was on the day the previews aired. Mama’s daughter said that she knew the truth, and that there was a sandwich beside her mother’s bed.
There! Conclusive proof that there was a second sandwich!

Next they’ll tell us Walt Disney was actually cremated. Sheesh.
That second sammich was actually a picnic ham and two loaves of whole wheat on the grassy knoll.
Mama Cass’ sister also appeared on VH1’s Behind The Music to set the record straight. That was some time ago.
Nothing earth-shattering here, people. Keep it moving.
The odds that the bread will fall butter side down are directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.
Cass Elliott never said who the father of her daughter was. According to the highly reliable, VH-1 “Behind the Music”, her daughter was never told either.
Just think - if Mama Cass had given Karen Carpenter a bite of her sandwich, they’d both be alive today.
Geez! No one but me heard the “chicken bone” theory? I do like the grassy knoll theory…
Ount me in on the chicken bone story. I had no clue it wasn’t true. The hubby told me about it and I never even questioned it. Seemed pretty fitting.
“…Nobody’s getttin’ fat 'cept Mama Cass…”
Careful with that axe, Eugene.
COUNT me in folks. Count.
Careful with that axe, Eugene.
This is news? I’ve been an obit collector for more years than I care to remember, and all her obits say she died of fatty degeneration of the heart. The early reports said she “might have choked on a ham sandwich,” but that was disproved within two days of her death, after the autopsy.
Cass was one of the first deaths I remember being really upset about, I was a big fan. GREAT voice.
