Links are and forever shall be beyond me to create, but I would like to know the etiquette regarding thanking a fellow doper for finding an answer to a question. Is it acceptable to post a reply just thanking someone?

Links are easy.
Type:

to get:
My link
Cutting and pasting from the address bar is the most common way of doing this, as it doesn’t let you forget the http part. Also, IE has a “copy shortcut” option when you right-click on a link to copy that link. This is especially useful for things that open up in a window without an address bar.
Netscape has this feature as well. It’ll then be in your clipboard and you can just paste it in.

I second that. Nothing’s worse than spending five or ten minutes doing research on something to try to answer a question someone has asked, write and submit the post, and then wait to see if they ever respond, even if it’s to let you know it was of no help.
BTW, cleops, no need for another “thank you” just for this little addition. I’ll take mine when I actually help you with something down the road.
