So the committee looking at copyright reform for a bill to be put before the European Parliament voted to neuter it. Got rid of the most important provisions regarding orphan works and so on.
The vote was fraudulent. More members of the committee voted than atually existed. And the margin of the fraud is greater than the margin of the victory in removing these provisions. A committee member from the PIrate Party wanted the vote repeated but was denied.
That’s how democracy works for our continental overlords.
I’ll believe this when people other than someone from the Pirate Party start writing about it.
Oh, and since we’re in the Pit: stop spreading dumbass lies, dumbass - the democratic deficit in the EU is bad enough as it is without people spreading random hoaxes about it.
Here’s another story which claims the OP is at least partially correct and refers to voting “voting irregularities”. Apparently votes were taken at least 3 amendments in the same session, and the total votes for each were different, and they all received more votes than the actual number of committee people who were present.
Jeez, what a clusterfuck. I believe almost anything about the EU these days. Just more evidence my ancestors had the right idea when they decided to leave.
Can’t be that. There were more votes counted them there are committee members. The count would have been wrong even if every single member was present.
