Where and when? Are there any good places to hang out that would be conducive to a 13-year-old? Dopers with kids up there… etc.?

Vermont
Ohio
Florida
Illinois
Virginia
and pretty much any and every state in a direct route between Ohio and any of the aforementioned places.
The old mountains & the flatlands.
My daughter has not been to Vermont, Virginia, nor Illinois. Now it looks like we’ll be able to see Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. Woohoo!
