Any would be appreciated but death is what I am after.
Kickin’ the bucket just doesn’t do it.
Opening for Elvis?
Bitin’ the Big One?
Buying the farm.
Pushing up the daisies. Joining the choir invisible.
Waking up on the wrong side of the grass.
Gone to the great bitbucket in the sky.
Pining for the fjords.
(Yes, I know, this means ***not ***being dead.)
An ex-parrot
Faceplant
Dirtnap
Coffin dive
Wormfood
Do you want goofy or polite?
For polite how about passed on, passed away, passed, gone, no longer with us, gone on, gone to a better place.
Goofy you already have a bunch… I think croaked is all I’ve got.
Now, now, these are all dysphemisms. A euphemism would be like passed away, departed, gone to one’s reward, called home to Jesus, etc.
Gone to meet his maker.
When I was nursing we used to say “pegged out”.
My brother-in-law refers to it as going toes up.
Shuffled off this mortal coil (to paraphrase Shakespeare).
Went gently into that good night (apologies to Dylan Thomas).
Big dirt nap
long dirt nap
croaked
shook hands with Jesus
Was called home.
Met her maker.
Cashed in his chips.
Turned the last page.
404.
Was composing, now decomposing.
Gone into deep cover.
Hangin’ with Khufu.
cashed his final paycheck
learned the Great Secret
crossed over Rainbow Bridge
greeted his ancestors
cleaned out his desk
cancelled his subscription to “Life” magazine
