Eureka! A Novel Addition To Seltzer

I recently found Bosco coffee syrup. This thread is not about that. To mimic a very expensive (but well worth it) coffee soda a friend bought me, I also bought milk and seltzer. I was wondering what else might go well with seltzer. Obviously, various syrups go very well. I bought all natural cherry syrup (ingredients- cherries, water, sugar) from the Soviet market near me and the results were astounding. Then, it came to me.

What if I added a teaspoon of honey to a glass of seltzer? I thought to myself ‘The results must be terrible. Otherwise I would have heard about this before.’ I tried it anyway.

You need to stir an awful lot to thoroughly mix in the honey. The mixture is wonderful! Having brought the world Swedish Fish Salad, I can only wonder what I’ll come up with next.

I love seltzer on ice with lots of lemon and salt.

Salt? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

The best Seltzer drink is of course a New York Egg Cream, having neither egg nor cream to confuse people.

  • Stir with a long spoon 2-3 tablespoons of Fox’s U-Bet chocolate syrup & 1/4 cup of milk into a 16 ounce glass.
  • Then pour or best yet spritz the seltzer off the stirring spoon into the glass until a foamy head reaches the top of the glass.
  • Give it a quick vigorous stir and enjoy.

And of course a red wine spritzer predates wine coolers by decades and is quite awesome.

I heartily agree!

I usually ignore celebrity rumors. But when I heard that Jerry Seinfeld has a case of U-Bet delivered to his house every month, I found it very believable.

I am now thinking I adore mead. Why not get myself a soda stream and carbonate mead?

Brew it yourself and you can customize. I’ve won myriad awards for Karen’s Downfall, my sparkling ginger mead. Quite refreshing over ice on a hot summer day. Sneaky, though (see the name!)
