European Dopers: Isn't it great?

The problem with Nyhavn, Norm, is that it’s sooooo trendy and therefore preposterously expensive.

But that raises a point - how much are you willing to spend on dinner? That would give me a better idea of places to suggest/make reservations at. Ummm…what about Tivoli? Is that too cheesy a suggestion?

Tatertot, wait to assume that I can speak Danish until after Norm has heard me!

If we three are the only ones that show, that’s okay - more booze for us!!!

Tivoli sounds great! Can we ride the rides? It’s been for freaking ever since I’ve been to an amusement park or fest and actually gotten to ride the rides. Police tend to arrest you if you leave your toddler alone to ride the Tilt a Whirl

I can’t spend too much money, so perhaps we should go someplace in the moderate to cheap range. And I’ve never had Danish food (except for danish!) so if nobody minds, maybe we could go someplace with local dishes? I’m thinking about trying herring; I can’t make any promises but I’ve decided that my aversion to herring is ridiculous especially since I love anchovies.

And Scarlet, whatever Danish you speak will be tons more than me. I can’t even imagine how to begin pronouncing it! I’m definately going to be one of those tourists pointing to a page in my phrase book when I want to find out how to get to the WC.

Hah! Dont worry, I think it’s pronounced the same as in German.

I’m in Europe but Dublin is a far from Denmark it might as well be in a different country . :frowning:

Yeah, sounds great, but I’m with Yojimbo (Konnichiwa by the way) in that I’m in Glasgow so the travelling would be a problem.

Anything in th UK might be workable though…

I would just like to formally announce that SwimmingRiddles sig has NOTHING to do with me

Being unemployed and living in London leaves me with, well, London as an option.

I must, I’m afraid, beg off as my last Euro-stop will be 12-17 May in Antalya, Turkey (as was discussed in the Euro-chat room).

Persian Gulf here I come…

Yeah the distance is a bit of a problem but more importantly there’s the Ireland-Scotland game at Lansdowne on the 30th and Dublin is going to be hopping that weekend.

Maybe next time …

Woohooo! I forgot about that . I love it when the Scots come over . Kilts everywhere .

… though to be honest yojimbo I had been a bit worried about it when the Orange march was still planned for that weekend but now that’s called off hopefully THAT element of the Scotland support will stay home.

Hmmm could I hijack this thread any more

ruadh (ar meisce)

Ya know, guys, you could have your own British Isles Doper fest, if you want, since you cant come here… :frowning: Id have loved to have seen you!

Anyway, Copenhagen, 27 May, what time do we meet, and where? Are we going to Tivoli? Should we meet at 6 then? If we’re not hungry right away we can ride the rides a bit, or have a beer, or both.

I think that sounds great, Scarlet. I am really looking forward to meeting you and your red-headed, busty self. I guess I won’t have a hard time picking you out of the crowd!

I think the British Dopers should have a meeting, maybe they could even get Coldfire to attend since he always seems to be going to London whenever we want to meet.

So, since we’re agreed, I guess it’s up to Norman to cast his vote so we (okay, you) can make all the arrangements.

What ? Anyone call my name ?

Yup, I’m there. Tivoli, 6 o’clock - main entrance, I suppose ? And then the agony of choosing between rides and beer!

Any suggestions as to how we will recognize each other ? Obviously, Scarlet, I might notice you right away, but just in case there are other busty redheads around ?

Looking forward to seeing you - I think we might end up having fun.

Okay, let’s say outside the main entrance of Tivoli, at 6…Unless we all want to hold big signs saying “EuroDoper 2000” or “I [heart] Unca Cecil”, I dunno how we’ll recognize each other. I’m planning to wear a long red skirt - maybe you both could just hunt me down? I’ll be sure to get there a little before six.
