Eve on the Radio

Eve has been busy, these days, but she thinks of us kindly. I’ve been keeping in touch with her now and again, and she sent an e-mail to me saying that she’d been on the radio. I asked her if I might share this with the dope, and she was quite pleased with the idea.

Ladies and gentlemen, Ms. Eve Golden!

This is the book about the Castles, Vernon and Irene Castle - Wikipedia
, who are responsible for modern ballroom dance in America. Fascinating people.

Thank you for posting this! Eve, I think of you often, and hope you are doing well in your life.

Among those whom Eve thanks in her new book are “The helpful and well-informed members of the Straight Dope Message Board.”

What about the rest of us?

Wow - how cool! Congrats **Eve **- I look forward to hearing it!

Damn, she remains a classy dame, as always.
Having Eve around always forced me to try to step up my posting game, as it were.

I miss Eve!

I hope she’s doing super-duper well.

Please e-mail her back and tell her her presence would be appreciated in this thread.

Naw, I disagree on inviting her in there; my impression is that Eve would rather live her life as who she is, not get dragged into those sorts of arguments as a poster child for The Transgendered Community[sup]TM[/sup] – and who can blame her?

Not that I can speak for her, but that’s my impression from previous discussions on the topic.

I miss Eve – she’s such a cool Doper. :frowning: I’ve got her other books; got to go buy this one too.

Oh, and twickster – thanks for the belly laugh!

 I thought the same thing!

Congrats Eve

No, please don’t. I think it’s very clear Eve hates being dragged into those discussions. I miss her posts a lot, but like ETF said, she is/was the sophisticate and old-time entertainment queen of the Dope. Seems to me that if she comes back here, it’d be to participate in those threads again, not to once again go over a topic she didn’t seem to like discussing in the first place.

Cool. BTW, why did Eve leave the board? I miss her.

I think she was very busy on her book & life in general, plus IIRC, the debate about a certain South Park episode kinda dampened her affections for some aspects of the SDMB.

By and large, simply busy. Taking care of her mother, her book, a new, at the time, job, and so on.

The wiki article didn’t have Eve’s book in the notes. Don’t you think it should be added?

Excellent suggestion.

Done!

I think I’m responsible for Eve leaving. I apologize profusely.
