Well not really an episode, but one of those “in memory of” pictures for someone involved in the show listing their dates of birth and death. Mrs. Rainy and I both loved this show, watched it regularily and remember this vividly. We recall an “in memory of” Michael Jeter being placed at the end of an episode. We were both very sad to see this talented actor had passed.
But then, years later on we see him in another movie or show. We both turn to each other and say…“I thought he was dead.”
Now, sadly, Mr. Jeter has passed. But Evening Shade ran 90-94, and I’ve never watched it in syndication, so we couldn’t be confusing the timeframe. ‘IF’ we saw what we remember seeing, it had to be in the early 90s.
Anyone else remember this? Was it some sort of prank or joke that I never heard anything else about? If my hallucinations are starting to affect other people…
I remember that too and my wife and I commented on it at the time. Then when I saw a film that came out that we caught and he was in it, I was surprised and then I assumed I remembered incorrectly. It is strange that you saw the same thing as I.
But yes, I remember that, but thought it was just my wife and I being mistaken. I even remember him looking worse and worse as the show went on.
Yeah, count me in on this too, for a bit, but he worked enough so that I was dispelled of this notion some time ago. Had a good part in Open Range (2003).
I swear I’ve never watched a syndication rerun of that show. I probably would, seeing how much I liked it, but I’ve never noticed it listed anywhere. This incidnet was definitely during the original airings.
My memory of it is completely vivid, and shared by my wife who was watching with me. When I saw him later in something else we had another conversation about it, and even wondered if it had been filmed much earlier than its release and shelved for some reason or the other.
The fact that you saw this as well makes me wonder if it was some sort of inside joke the producers of the show played, but it never got enough attention for a public explanation to have been made or have been widely reported.
