So, as you do, some friends and I were discussing sex and the subject of threesomes came up. I mentioned that I’d read a survey which claimed that 17% of people had had a threesome or other group sex situation. One of my friends in particular was adamant that the survey number was way too high. She reckoned that maybe only about 5% of the people she knew had–and she is no shrinking violet and neither are her friends and acquaintances. Other people involved in the conversation agreed that the 17% figure was too high, but didn’t make a guess as to what the real number might be.
On the other hand, my ex was once in a “truth or dare” style party where this poll question was asked, and over half of those present answered in the affirmative. (Which terribly shocked my repressed ex, no doubt.)
So, as I promised the rest of the group, and of course entirely in the interests of advancing sociological knowledge…here it is. Note that for the purposes of this survey I’m going to define “threesome or group sex” as any sexual activity that actively involves three or more people. “Two people being watched by a third” doesn’t count as a threesome, for example.
My answer is no, and I would never be interested now that I’m married, but I think that two (or more) women at once is a fantasy that most every straight male entertains. I’m pretty ok with just leaving it as a fantasy, though.
