I recently discovered Flying Colors and have been obsessed with “The Storm”.
When I first hear a song, I know within seconds if I will like it or not. Then, if I really like it, I’ll continuously listen to it for a whole week or so every time I put on my headphones. Through the years, some include:
Blasphemous Rumors - Depeche Mode
The Reflex - Duran Duran
True Blue - Madonna
Let’s Go Crazy - Prince and the Revolution
Only You - Flying Pickets
Tomorrow - James
Love to Hate You - Erasure
Dreams - The Cranberries
Girls & Boys - Blur
El Amor - Azucar Moreno (Spanish)
Soon Jung - Koyote (Korean)
je t’aime je t’aime - Tommy february6 (Japanese)
Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5
Like I said when this thread was new, I do this all the damn time. I’m posting again to share the one currently going (an hour and counting). ‘Scare Tactics’ (actually apparently a rather obscure New York punk band called Fur) Inhumanifesto.
(Also, JpnDude - yay, Tommy! Though I prefer heavenly and buriguri to february…february’s still good, though. I’ve semi-recently had Talk To Me (brilliant green) and I’m Your Devil (Tommy heavenly6) in my obsessy-file.)
All the time.
Current obsession is thissong.
People here may not understand the lyrics but should still find the music and singing brilliant.
Yes. I worked it through by transcribing every note (of every instrument) of it into sheet music, using a wonderful little German software (the free version is great for most purposes) called “Forte”. I’m no great musician or composer, but it was such a pleasure (harmless diversion, althoughat one point I was wasting more time than I should have) to work out how to express the music in graphic form…and there’s just something beautiful to me about sheet music – I can’t exactly say why, it just is.
Anyway, it helped me get over my fixation with the song…
I most definitely have. This is from a little while ago. For a long time last summer it was this one.
Right now, it might be this one, or this one, or this one.
There have been so, so many. These are just in the last while.
Strangeness & Charm by Florence + The Machine
I could listen to it all week and never grow tired of it.
