I don’t know if this counts as revenge, but the people who used to live next door to us were complete white trash. The mother was turning tricks, the eldest daughter was a drug addict (we’d hear her screaming fits as she was coming down), her son would run around the neighborhood shooting at people with his bb gun, etc. She had pulled them out of school and claimed to be home schooling them, but they just ran wild all day. The house was a mess, their yard was a complete shithole, and they had several cats, who roamed all over the place, making a mess.
Finally they defaulted on their mortgage and when they left, they left their cats behind. For a week we waited for them to come back and finally my mother said fuck it and we took the poor things to a rescue place. ANOTHER week went by, and they finally came back for them. We just hid inside the house and listened to them calling for them. Fuckers.
(The funny thing is when we first moved in, they were okay people, and we were actually friendly with them. The woman helped me out with a school project once. After a while though…)
I left it to the CPD to take care of these neighbors. My old neighbors were a constant nuisance, two daughters who both dropped out of school and had kids early, hung out with gangbangers all the time, blasting awful music and always screaming, causing problems, fighting etc. The whole neighborhood knew this house was bringing in the crime. The father was a 60 year old man living on his geriatric parents, the mother was a nurse who couldn’t work anymore because she did too much cocaine and had a stroke and began to sound like the Tasmanian Devil cartoon when she talked. The Police were at their house at least 6 times per month. One time, we called because some gangbanger’s came by and knocked out all of their living room windows. The cops came, and I peered out the window to watch. The narcs went in, came out laughing and starting singing “The Beverly Hillbillies” theme from their squad speaker, it was the most amazing sight I’ve ever witnessed. At Citizens (CAPS) meetings the police were well aware of how bad the neighbors were and were looking for tips, anything to build a solid case and put them away. Since all of them had criminal records (easy to look up on IDOC website) I figured it was only a matter of time. BAM! as soon as I move, I look at it and all of them are in prison for something, for at least 5 year stretches, mostly from Meth and Heroin distribution. This was the first time that came of “what goes around comes around” and “they’ll get what they deserve”. Usually the shitty people never get what they deserve. The Police openly mocking them in front of the entire neighborhood was the best thing ever. I just wish I caught it on video.

Nope, planning to rent it. After we replace the light fixtures, appliances, and bathroom fixtures she took when she knew the foreclosure was going to finally happen.
