Ever had a snack get stuck in a vending machine?

Yes, earlier today. Now I’m fifty cents poorer and don’t have barbecue potato chips. :frowning:

IME, it’s a problem more common in older machines. Many newer ones have some sort of laser system that makes sure something falls, though it’s by no means a perfect system (the machine that refused to give me chips has a big sticker announcing that system).

I’ve had it happen a couple dopzen times, maybe. Usually the problem can be remedied by shaking the machine. Occasionally I’ve been gipped out of a snack. Occasionally I’ve gotten a second snack. I’m too busy to spend much time calling to complain about the occasional problem with a dollar snack. Over time I think things are even; I don’t take any pleasure in ripping off vending companies either.

Heh. Sometime last year I had a bag of Jalapeno Krunchers get stuck in the machine at work, so I gave it the old slap move, and not only did the chips fall, but so did the fluorescent light bulb from the top of the machine. Shattered all over the bottom tray. Since I’m the only person in the office who eats the Jalapeno Krunchers, I snagged those out and tossed them in the garbage and just made my way back to my desk…

Yeah, there’s a butload of snacks stuck in there right now… damn thing wont give them up till I put money in it!

Yep. The vendors put the shit machines where I worked, because it was a place with only about 80 workers, instead of 500 or more like some other clients. The other places complained and they removed the bad machines, and brought the less bad machines to us. You could come into the break run and find the machine walked 3 feet from it’s normal spot, from people rocking it. One morning I walked into the room to find shattered glass all over. Some dumb ass put their hand through the glass. Of course they claimed to have just tapped the glass. This was a person that routinly went to bars and started fights. Only once were food items stuck for the snacks all being stuck together, and not cut apart.
