You can almost set a watch by my dogs. They both want naps after eating. Usually about 90 minutes. If I pet them they just ignore me. They are curled up and won’t move.
After 90 minutes they are ready for attention. Belly rubs and lots of petting.
My dog crashes and sleeps right after he’s decided I’ve napped long enough and pokes me, paws me, whines at me, sits on me, etc. to get attention. Then, when I’m up, snoooze.
My chihuahua will flop over on his side when I’m petting him. Thats an invitation for a belly rub. But he only does that when he wants the attention. Otherwise he just lies there curled up, head down ignoring me.
My Boston loves to get on her back while I rub her belly. The chihuahua hates being on his back.
