Ever worn suspenders?

I used to play hockey. We worn suspenders and garter belts.

Currently, I use Perry suspenders when I need to carry lots of gear in my pants pockets. Their suspenders feature “Perry Hooks” which slip onto your belt, without removing your belt. Very easy to remove, and replace, when “nature calls”.

This poll definitely needed a rainbow suspenders for girls (or guys) option.

I was not one of the popular girls, but I definitely recall the rainbow suspenders being something that the popular girls would wear.

Every day. I don’t like belts, I get a pinched nerve in my hip that causes numbness in my thigh.

At the bottom of my law license, I am convinced that it states in fine print that I am also allowed to wear suspenders without feeling self-conscious.

They were fashionable for a while in the 80s. As a young teacher who still made an effort to dress stylishly, I wore them.

Once, dressed as Alex from A Clockwork Orange for Halloween. Then once more, when I thought I might see if I liked them better than wearing a belt. Looked at myself in the mirror and thought I looked ridiculous, so never since.

“Something else”

Yes with high waisted pants and the dress blue army uniform. Not only wouldn’t a belt have worked it wasn’t authorized. That’s pretty close to the tuxedo wear since it’s a similar level of dressiness. I also did with BDUs in the field for a while when the authorized belt was relatively narrow. That belt wasn’t very comfortable if you had a lot of stuff in your pockets and/or were hanging a pistol in a leg holster off your belt. Suspenders just help distribute the weight more comfortably. In this usage I wore a belt AND suspenders connected to the belt.

Those are shirt stays, not suspenders thought. I had a set too.

I wore braces (fancy suspenders) in the early 90s when I was working in financial services.

I used to, a long time ago for work. All my dress trousers had suspender buttons sewn in. I also used wear arm bands and sock garters, just because I liked that fashion style.

I had the Mork rainbow suspenders too and I loved them enough to wear them likely for a full school year. I think I was just around eight though so it was cool. Also the Annie Hall look flew through Memphis when I was a young teen so I had thin black ones I wore with a piano tie and white button down.

Since then? Nope.

Back in the early '90s, I owned a couple pairs of retro trousers and suits that included suspender buttons. So I bought one pair of suspenders; probably wore them a few dozen times. Not for many years now.

Clip-on suspenders? No.

I’ve worn a tuxedo once. Also, I remember snow pants with suspenders when I was a little kid, but I’m not sure if those were mine or my brother’s or someone else’s.

Put me down in the braces with my tuxedo and with suits in the early 90’s category.

Yes, as a young thing, and I looked totally smokin’.

I used to wear suspenders with stockings, before pantyhose were invented.

I seem to recall that the bustiest of us (which would be me) wore the suspenders down. …Or am I mixing that up with overalls?

Wear them a lot. I find them a lot more comfortable on the motorcycle and for working in the yard/on the house.

I have worn them a few times with certain suits and tuxes. They are more comfortable than belts. I wish they’d come back in style.

If I’m wearing a suit, I’m wearing suspenders. My body is designed as a cone, and without attaching my pants to my shoulders, I’m constantly pulling them up. Combine the variable pants level with a tucked in shirt, and I look like a pile of dirty laundry in short order. I still end up all wrinkled if I’m wearing suspenders, but it takes longer.

I also wear overalls and a cowboy hat every day to work at a server farm. Make of that what you will.

I wear a dinner suit all the time. I always wear braces.
