I´m listening to Elton John´s song “Belfast”, it has the line “Every foot of this world needs an inch of Belfast” in the choir, I´m quite impressed by the beauty of that line and I´m wondering if it´s something original or it comes from some other place, anyone knows?
What does it mean though?
I think it’s original.
Always guessed that it referred to the strength of the Belfast people and that the rest of the world could only profit by following in their example.
“And so say your lovers from under the flowers
Every foot of this world needs an inch of Belfast”
and indeed a little bit more of
It sounds like one of those depressingly naseous songs about the human spirit blah blah blah.
The people of Belfast could learn a lot from the rest of the world, the whole province could :rolleyes:
