evidence

thanks guy, im glad to be here. anyway, here yer go:
the books name is “The Bible The QUran And Science” by Maurice Bucaille, originally written in french, translated to english.

p.205, about the evolution of the embryo:
“sura23 verse 14 - ‘We fasioned the thing which clings into a chewed lump of flesh, and We fasioned the chewed flesh into bones and We clothed the bones into intact flesh’ ‘Chewed flesh’ is the translation of the word mudga; ‘intact flesh’ is lahm. This distinction needs to be stressed. The embryo is initially a small mass. At a certain stage in its development, it looks to the naked eye like chewed flesh. The bone structure develops inside this mass in what is called the mesenchyma. The bones that are formed are covered in muscle; the word lahm applies to them”

and remember how Moses was fleeing from the pharoah? and the waters were split? in the Quran, it was said that God preserved the body of the Pharoah as a message to all of man that even the most powerful kings could be toppled. in the Bible, it is said that his body was lost. in 1898, the pharoahs body wasfound. in the 1980s, an examintion of the mummy revealed that the mummy had died drowning, in the same time that Moses was fleeing the pharoah!

i urge you to buy a copy of this book. ill post more examples.

Thanks For listening,
RaVen

Could you please provide information upon which pharoah and which mummy you are referring to. My understanding is that there is no universal agreement as to the period of the exodus, but that most scholars associate it with the reign of Rameses II (Ozymandias). The mummy of Ramese II is fairly strongly identified (no. 61078 in the “Catalogue of the Mummies from KV35.”). I have not seen any evidence attributing the cause of death for this mummy to drowning, but I would be very interested in such a study. Please provide a cite.

Other contenders for the position include Menephtah(Merneptah in some sources) I and Seti II. I have seen references state that Menephtah’s mummy is unrecovered, but in fact it it seems fairly stronly identified with no. 61079 of the catalog. Mummy 61081 was originally identified with Set II, but later analysis based upon facial and cranial features argues that it is in fact a pharoah of the Thutmosid liine. I have not heard of any other recovered mummy being identified with Seti II.

Admitedly, my readings in this area are not current. I would be most appreciative of any links/cites which detail current findings regarding these mummies.

I could be wrong, but it seems like this is the second thread you’ve created that belongs in “Islam and Science”, not as a thread of its own. You may want to hit “post reply” instead of “new thread”…

“Verses 90 to 92, sura 10 inform us that the Children of Israel crossed the sea while the Pharaoh and his troops were pursuing them, and that it was only when the Pharoah was about to be drowned that he cried: “I believe there is no God except the God in which the Children of Israel belive in. I am of those who submit themselves to Hm” God replied “What? Now! Thou hast rebelled and caused depravity. This day, We save thee in thy body so that though mayest be a sign for those who will come after thee.” This text of the Qur’an merely stated very clearly that the Pharaohs body will be saved: that is the the important piece of information…”
“…As the Qur’an merely states, the body of the Pharaoh of the Exodus was in fact rescued: whichever of the Pharaohs it was, vistors may see him in the Royal Mummies Room of the Egyptian Museum, Cairo.”

In 1898, a mummy was discovered in the Valley of Kings. It was taken into Cairo museum, and put on display. The mummies name was Merneptah.
“…he most probably died either from drowning according to the Scriptual narrations, or from very violent shocks preceding the moment when he was drowned - or both at once…”
“Rameses II, Pharaoh of the Oppresion
Merneptah, Pharaoh of the Exodus”

Also, it is said that Moses was a baby when he was taken to Ramesses II. Ramesses reign lasted 67 years. During the test, it was said that Merneptah died in his early-mid 20s. Moses was 83 when he and his people fled from the Pharaoh. So isnt it logical that Merneptah was the Pharaoh of the Exodus?
