Zo, Herr Vonka … your Oompaloompas haff betrayed you, no? Vell, how do you like deze apples?!?

OK, plums, then. Vatever!

Ve know you haff relatiffs in Hershey, Pennsylvania…

It blowed up good. Blowed up REAL good!

I never can remember that chocolate code.

What is it? Square means nougat, round is cream-filled, oval is exploding?

Heh, heh, heh.

Anyone besides me reminded of the ‘crunchy frog’ and other concoctions? Like the tasty treat that shoots steel bolts piercing through both cheeks when you eat it?

Shrapnel sweeties? Teutonic truffles?

Sometimes, truth really is stranger than fiction.

That did cross my mind. But I decided that any reference, even a cryptic one, to the Whizzo Chocolate Company would mark me as a complete geek.

So what exactly is the purpose of the seven second delay? Were the wily Nazi saboteurs planning to distribute the things one at a time?

“Hier…haff a chocolate bar!”
:runs away very quickly:

:dubious:

It’s a standard feature of Acme[sup]TM[/sup] brand weapons. The thing has to tick loudly for a few seconds, then ring like an alarm clock. Then BOOM!

That’s how you know it’s an Acme[sup]TM[/sup]!

The (British) S.O.E had similar devices. One was exploding horse manure left conveniently in the road and another was an exploding Buddha specially for Japanese troops. More here :- SOE
