It’s just a patent, not something an airline is actually planning on using. There are all kinds of these ridiculous ideas floating around.
Pretty much the same way you do now, I expect – you politely ask the person in the aisle seat to stand up and let you out. It’s not like it’s ever been possible for people in middle or window seats to get out without asking the person on the aisle to move.
The lack of out-of-the-box thinking by the airlines is evidenced by the continued assumption that passengers need to be conscious while flying.
What if the center seat was 6" above the flanking ones?
