Tris, I agree. God gave man and man alone the ability to reason and make decisions for himself. I think God gave us this gift so that we may think for ourselves, make decisions, and determine right from wrong. Not using this gift, allowing yourself to be led by one with no merit, and not thinking for yourself is the greatest sin man can commit. I think this is also explained by God Himself to Moses by way of Genesis 3:3-6, where Woman allows herself to be led by Satan without questioning the authority or truth of his claims.

The ability to understand, comprehend, and then choose is the only aspect of our being that sets us apart from mere animals, and not using this gift to it’s fullest potential is to curse the name of God Himself.

However, one could claim that this ‘gift’ is actually the original sin, received when the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil was eaten, and therefore taking advantage of this ‘gift’ is the greatest sin.

So it comes down to this, then: is freedom of choice the gift of God, or the curse of Satan? “The world may never know,” to quote a commercial.

Thanks, I was considering getting out of my car at a stop light and asking the person in front of me where they got the sticker… I love it, it made my day.

Thanks Katisha… I am so tired of biblical literalists who seem to forget that their favourite book wasn’t actually written in English.
