Well, here’s the latest from the “Cowboys Hall of Fame Crimes”:
Having grown up in Dallas, I am beyond sick of these stories - pile on and curse them to lose every game in the upcoming season – (eh, wait, they’ll probably do that already!)
**Jury selection this week; Goodrich faces 2 manslaughter counts

By ROBERT THARP / The Dallas Morning News
The former backup cornerback for the Cowboys has been indicted on three counts of failing to stop, two charges of manslaughter and one of aggravated assault. Prosecutors have chosen to pursue only the two manslaughter charges at this trial. ** copyrighted work deleted - see below - ub
That I don’t know, Miller - I’m guessing the usual 10-30 years?
The accident was a high-profile hit and run in the 24 hours prior to his arrival at police headquarters - and one of my employees said in jest that “it’s probably a Cowboys player” after we heard it was an expensive car travelling late at night. Imagine our surprise the next morning, upon learning that was precisely the case.
Turns out Mr. G. had just exited one of Dallas’ finest strip joints and was on his way home. We’ll have to wait and see where his home will be after the trial.

Sorry! I thought about that after posting – unfortunately, the dallasnews.com website requires registration, and I don’t know that the story has hit the national news.
I guess I see so much copyrighted material on these boards, it slipped my mind; of course, I won’t do it again.
Can we recycle the Michael Irvin / Leon Lett jokes? You know, the ones like “The Cowboys are changing their uniforms this year, to orange jumpsuits” and “The Cowboys game had to be cancelled - not enough players made bail.”
Y’all just be thankful for the Portland Jail Blazers.
UncleBeer was kind enough to send me a website that doesn’t require registration: http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/6462847.htm
Long story short, Goodrich was driving (spectators say around 100 miles an hour) late at night and plowed into 2 people who were attempting to help out another motorist. Both men were killed - and he kept driving. He turned himself in the next day, and states that he thought he had hit debris in the road. I haven’t heard any mention of drugs/alcohol related to the incident.
Well, that last post may have sounded like I was only interested in football performance. Sorry–I only meant that job performance is usually reflected by attitude. What happened is a terrible tragedy–human life is so much more important than a game and I didn’t mean to imply otherwise.
I’ve lived in this town all my life, and find it interesting that the Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks players don’t make headlines for drug possession/manslaughter; and what’s more, they actually WIN GAMES. How 'bout that.
I only attend Cowboys games if I’m given tickets (well, in all honesty, that goes for the other teams as well, it’s expensive!) We’ve come a LONG way from being “America’s Team,” and our beloved Tex Schram passed away recently.
I certainly hope Parcells brings about a change, hermann. I don’t recall Tom Landry putting up with the sort of behavior we’ve seen in the past decade (although perhaps the media was less likely to jump on the stories, who knows).
