Lovelace has been claiming for years that she was “forced” or “tricked” into porn. Riiiiiigghhhtt. That’s why she appeared in dozens of movies over a period of years. There’s no outside evidence besides her own say-so that she ever underwent any ordeal that was anybody’s fault but her own. Nobody else from the porn community of that era has come forward to support her claims. You never hear from the husband that “forced” her into porn. And there have been a lot of people who got caught up in lives of excess who WEREN’T involved in porn.
All in all, I think she just wanted to create as much distance as possible from the person she used to be to who she is now. “Spiritual” conversions that cause a person to do a complete 180 in their world-view are not uncommon.
I never believed she was forced or tricked into performing. I sometimes wondered if she continued to practice her “art” with her new husband after having renounced her life as a porn star.
I read her book Ordeal and just couldn’t shake the feeling that everything she wrote was either false or highly exaggerated. It came across like she desperately needed everyone to believe she really didn’t like what she had participated in.
Well she took the high and mighty road for a long time…but I do remember her posing in Hustler after all that heavy postulating against the pron industry.
I dunno. In my mind, its not the job you do but who you are that makes a person. If she was a good person, so be it.
C’mon, guys, that is not cool. If you have to make cracks about someone who just died (relatively) young, at least have the decency to make them really funny . . .

Does anybody else find it disturbing that, in a news report of somebody’s death from injuries sustained in a traffic accident, there’s a huge advert for autoweb.com?
As far as Ms. Boreman/Lovelace’s past, I never believed she was forced into anything. Still, it’s pretty clear from her post-porn life that she was traumatized by something that happened during her career. She’s as entitled as anybody else to have a change of heart.
A quick Google search turns up the ascii version. A straight “video to ascii” conversion. Now there’s the ultimate in lossy compression. Not nearly as inspired or hilarious as the ascii Star Wars[sup]TM[/sup]
