Excuse Me, Right-Wing Radio Pundits...

But where are all the “grey-hair ghettoes” in this country; full of oldsters from Britain , France, Canada, etc., running from forced euthanasia at the hands of their evil government health care systems?

Every one of the whores to the U.S. health insurance racket says that" the very next step" after creating UHC will be euthanizing Gramps,Granny, and younger family members who was born with Down Syndrome, a cleft palate, or a deformed limb. These windbags all authoritatively state that the only way to make UHC even remotely affordable is for the government to kill all the old and weak; so where are the U.S.’ British, Canadian, and Continental European ghettoes, loaded with old people and physically- and/or mentally- handicapped people?

Is the evil Socialist/Fascist news media suppressing stories of brave European and Canadian octogenarians and handicapped people stowing away in cargo containers, risking dehydration and starvation to get to America?

Never been to St. Pete, have you?

They’re too old and feeble to move! DUH!

Well, you save more money by not letting them get old and weak. So they kill off everyone when they reach 30. They have a little crystal in the palm of thier hand to tell them when to go to the suicide chambers.
or maybe that was Logan’s Run, I get them confused.

They were crushed and killed when your enormous strawman fell on them.

It’s Sarah Palin’s strawman. Or maybe Betsy McCaughey’s

All the UK oldsters are in the south of Spain, in much the same way that the US retirees head off to Florida. Those that can’t afford Spain move to Eastbourne. Or at least that’s what the Government wants us to believe.

Maybe it’s like your old dog - “Granny’s gone to live in a nice retirement community by the seaside” - only with “knitting” instead of “chasing rabbits”.

Eastbourne is way more expensive than Spain, so that exposes the government’s evil scheme. It is only cheaper if… you have no “living” costs.

Wait a minute… I thought all the children who were naughty before Christmas went to Spain. Santa Claus would kidnap them and deliver them there. Naughty old people go there as well?

[OT]I’m American so I never really understood why “if you’re bad, Santa will take you to Spain” was supposed to be a threat. Since it’s usually cold, gray, and dreary in Nothern Europe during December and Spain is warmer and sunnier, it actually sounds like a pretty good deal. (Is this a holdover from the days when Franco ran the country?)[/OT]

As for the topic of this thread, I’ve noticed right-wing scribes and talking heads usually respond to defenses of government run health care by even conservative Europeans by saying such statements prove how addictive and impossible-to-remove the service is once it’s in the system. An implicitly xenophobic comment on the weak character of the Europeans then often follows.

You’d think it would be nicer in Spain, but then all those Spaniards will try to start speaking Spanish at you, and only then will you look into the eyes of the monster and know true horror.

And they eat foreign muck like paella and tapas, rather than good English food.

And they can all dance, & they’re prettier than you, & you’ll feel so low & small that you’ll run home to shave your head & vote BNP.

Okay, so clearly you did not live here long enough to understand the Hollanders. It goes like this: All the virtuous (protestant, but only incidentally, really) people are here, which clearly makes it paradise. All the wicked (catholic, but that’s just a coincidence, honest) people are in Spain, where they will be punished until they are virtuous enough to be allowed back in. Virtuous persons have sufficiently strong character to not be troubled by incidentals such as the weather, as they are made stronger and more virtuous thereby.

(On a serious note, I imagine-- given the clothes on Black Peter-- that it is a holdover from the days when Philip II ran the country)

Anyone who could stand up and say they were a refugee from the forced euthanasia would be proof that the forced euthanasia didn’t work due to government inefficiency, which would be proof that the government couldn’t do what the pundits’ audience fear, which would prove them right about how inefficient the government is.

Since the refugees don’t exist, this proves that the government is completely efficient at delivering the forced euthanasia, which is why they can’t be trusted to effectively deliver anything else.

It’s kind of like how all of those foreigners come over here and steal our jobs and sit around on welfare all day doing nothing.

BWAHAHAHA

This is from the dutch version of Sinterklaas (which is the basis for Santa Claus; all the best things are from Holland;)), who is said to be from Madrid and the story goes that children that are naughty will not get presents but will put in the sack (which normally contain the presents) and taken back to Spain. I didn’t know this going to spain thing was used in the US as well.

Santa Claus is from Madrid? That would explain the straw donkey I got in my stocking last Christmas.

Welllll, not all the ‘wicked’ lived in Spain there was that part of the Netherlands that was still ‘occupied’ or ‘loyal’ (views vary) and that were therefore prone to think that a Saint would rather come from Spain than from the protestant North.

I’m thinking that the linked article doesn’t exactly say what you think it does.
