Experience with NSFW links? (SFW)

I’ve come across the NSFW tag here and there, and that got me musing about the tag and its purpose. I mean, I’m sure standards differ on whether a certain link deserves it, and I’m sure it’s left off entirely off a link that would otherwise almost objectively deserve it, either out of forgetfulness or malice.

So I’ve been wondering: have any of you ever accidentally clicked on a NSFW link at work, whether it was tagged as such or not? What happened because of it, if anything? (Do sysadmins look for this sort of thing, and do they or their bosses take overt or covert action because of it? Or is a coworker looking over your shoulder and being offended/disgusted the main danger?) What is the usual reason for a link being NSFW: sex, violence, or some sort of -ism (racism, sexism, homophobia… ism)? How much of a problem is lack of due diligence (or again, malice) in not having this tag?

Anything that you wouldn’t want you boss looking over your shoulder at = NSFW.

I don’t click on too many links at work anyway.

Before my company changed hands, I had the safe search turned off on Google. It wasn’t uncommon for me to get unexpectedly NSFW results from a relatively tame search term.

Unfortunately, we now have much stricter overlords, and I’m not willing to take the chance anymore.

NSFW links should follow the two click rule (i.e. they’re broken by adding additional spaces in the addresss and you have to manually cut and paste them into a browser window and fix them), that way you can’t accidentally click on one.

I agree that the definition of NSFW is pretty subjective, and as a result I rarely click on links at work.
