I’m considering hiring a personal trainer to assist with a new weight-training program, as well as getting some needed in-person accountability I can’t seem to muster up on my own or online. I’m looking at Fitness Together, which pairs a client with a trainer 1:1 with weekly work-outs.
I priced some packages locally, and it’s about $60/session. Before I make a decision, I wanted to see if anyone out there has used this franchise to achieve their fitness goals, have any stories to share, or other useful information I might consider in this process.
Thanks so much,
LH
Well… since this seems like new territory around here, I’m happy to report that I took the plunge and went ahead and did the free session at a local FT. I liked the set-up and personal attention from my trainer so much that I’ve been working with her 2x week since March.
I love the changes I’m experiencing in my muscles, in my body – this is the first time in my 38 years that I’ve been on a consistent weight-training schedule. I’m eager to see how my progress continues as I maintain the lifestyle changes I have while incorporating strength training, cardio, and good eating habits into my life. I have plenty of pounds to shed, so this is hopeful. Fit before 40 is calling me!

Since the OP is looking for personal experiences, this is better suited for IMHO than GQ.

Never used them before but I have used physical trainers from time to time. Good for you for taking that plunge and sticking with it to seeing results. Hoo-RAH!
