Experiences with Levsin SL

So, after a couple years of “down-time,” my IBS has picked up again lately and my doctor put me on AcipHex and Levsin SL. I understand that AcipHex is just an increased version of normal acid blockers, but the Levsin he prescriped was to “make it so that I wouldn’t feel the urge to use the bathroom”.

Anyone have any experiences with Levsin? Does it usually work like that?

I’ve used it. It works miracles.

IANAD, but it basically slows the intestine down so you don’t get cramps. It’s been a while since I’ve used it, but IIRC one of my side effects was gas.

Awesome. I can deal with gas, as long as I don’t have the urge to use the bathroom immediately every 5 seconds.
