Sr. Beppe Grillo ran for something in the recent Italian parliamentary election. He received a generous part of the vote, although no majority by any means.
However, Mr. Grillo earned a manslaughter conviction due to his part in the death of three of his friends in 1981 while he was the driver of his jeep. Now, Mr. Grillo cannot hold office.
If he was ineligible to hold office, how could he participate as a candidate in the election? He won many votes, but what position has he won? Who would represent his constituents in the Parliament?
