Cheesy, overpriced, flimsy, crappy eyeglass frames. I’m having to put a screw back in by feel…since I can’t see…since the goddamned lens fell out…because the screw came loose.
I’ll soon get over it.

Boy am I glad I’m nearsighted. At least when the screw falls out I can still see to put it back in. Assuming I can find the screw of course (who decided that the screw should come out from the bottom anyways? I never lost the screw when it came out from the top). And then there was the time that the repair kit didn’t have any short enough. It was brand new, so I wasn’t out–the ‘short’ screws were just too long. So I had a screw sticking out of the top, plus my clip-ons wouldn’t clip anymore because of it.
I don’t have to worry about it anymore though, I have semi-rimless frames now. No screws to lose!
Being a long time wearer of glasses, a hint I have come across is to use a little drop of clear nail polish on the screws will keep the screw from coming loose again.

The solution: Pierced Eyeglasses.
If a screw starts working loose, believe me, you’ll know.
Ewww!
My problem is that I have the kind with springs in the hinges. Except that the springs broke last year. I’ve been keeping them together with glue and wire and whatever ever since. Finally I’m getting new glasses. They’re due in sometime this week. Yay!
Oh, and I have another eyeglass-related rant. 80% of the frames in past years are the narrow kind. They look really cool but the lenses are too small to be very practical. If I wanted to look straight ahead all the time, they would be fine but eyes move in their sockets for a reason. You might as get as much focused coverage as you can.
That said, I **did not ** pick one of the three or four Janet Reno style glasses available. I opted for something a little smaller.
