Eyesight vs. Intelligence

I have made an observation throughout my education and was curious if there was any research out there to prove either way. A couple years back, I was in a college math class with kids from 6th-10th grade. These were SMART kids. Of the 12 in the class, I believe 10 of them had glasses, and the others two may or may nto of had contacts. Going through life, glasses tend to be associated with the smart-geeky-nerdy type. So, is there a correlation between eyesight and intelligence?

Wearing glasses equals being smarter?

Since this topic has been discussed so recently, I’ll close this thread and direct further comment to the earlier one, linked to above.
