EZ Baseball Q: Who Was NY #8? Yogi?

Was Yogi Beara (sp?) #8 for the NY Yankees? Whoever it was, he was in the 1956 World Series against the Brooklyn(?) Dodgers. Can someone confirm if all this info is correct?

Yes, and yes.

And it’s spelled Berra.

Yogi-** whoever it was **? What planet did you come from? He’s still doing commercials fercrissake.

The best bad ball hitter ** ever ** in the game.

And, just to add to the trivia quotient of this thread, Bill Dickey was also # 8 for the Yankees…and Yankees # 8 is the only number in baseball that’s been retired by the same club for two different players.

Except for the Expos #10, for both Andre Dawson and Rusty Staub.

…as opposed to the six players who have have their (same) number retired by two different clubs.
