A black man is President! Maybe that means white men can now dance!
Now this is how we used to do the Slide in Englewood… stand back, y’all, because I gotta get this working like this right here… yeah, that bass is starting to kick now…
What a night!
lavenderviolet: The last time the GOPpers were the ones complaining we got the Clinton Death List. I wait with baited breath to see what the Republicans will come up with for Obama.
Hope wins out over fear! This makes me very happy.
I am also happy that I finally live in a blue county in a blue state! Way to go Florida!*
*But we need to have a little talk about how you can elect a black president and then pass an amendment that takes away the rights of other people. But that is for another thread, preferably some place pitty.
Errrmmm . . . :o One thing at a time. Maybe in 2010. You know how political progress goes – two steps forward, one step back, step-ball-change and shake your booty, booty, shake that ass, bitch, and let me see what you’ve got . . . .
McCain made an excellent speech. I so hope he meant most every word. Obama’s was even better. I think my children will be so much better off for what happened tonight.
It’s a new America now. It’s my America now. It’s our America now.
It’s a watershed time when I can say this country believes in equality with a straight face. I hope whether you’re Dem, Rep, or whatever, you can share in that feeling, what I’m feeling, right now. It’s a good thing.
And I’ve just shit my pants.
I’m making celebratory lasagna.
…we expected to have to stay up a little later than we apparently have to…
Oh yes: jitterbug

If McCain’s campaign had even approached the intelligence of his concession speech the race would have been a lot closer.[/QUOTE
Preach it, sister. Had he gone this way with his campaign he may well have won this.
I’m dancing, and crying with happiness. This is the first time in years I have felt such pride in America.
Once again, let’s save any brand-new steps for 2010.
I don’t want to go to sleep…with the exception of a couple of ballot measures this night couldn’t have gone any better.
I – I just couldn’t hold it in.
My joy could be enhanced only if Al Franken had taken it in Minnesota. But I’m sure he rejoices tonight as much I. And dances, if not with his legs, then with his heart.
I am so happy I can barely stand it! Happy, and proud to be an American.
I thought McCain’s speech was wonderful. It shows that there is someone respectable there, when he isn’t listening to the handlers.
Obama’s speech was incredible. That one will be remembered for a long, long time. And his daughters are just adorable!
I loved the shots of Jesse Jackson, tears streaming down his face. I can only imagine what it was like for him to see this happen.
Thank you, world! We’re happy to be back.
Yes, I’m sure Al will administer his Daily Affirmation tomorrow morning in his mirror, then will be shitting skittles out of his ass along with myself, as well.
I watched CNN call it for Obama all the way over here in Australia and I have to admit… I cried just a little during Obama’s speech.
Thank you for that, people of the U.S.A. I congratulate you on your decision.
I feel like partying but I’m home alone for another three hours.
I know how you feel; One time I went to bed joyous over President Gore’s victory…you can imagine how I felt in the morning when I turned on the TV.
Incredible! I can’t remember the last time that I felt such optimism for the future.
We saw a big change in America tonight. A lot more is coming.
… that was shared around the world.
