F*ing SPAM MAIL!

There’s really nothing I can say as to how much spam mail pisses me off. What the hell can I do to stop it besides change my email address? I do the damn un-subscribe crap which does nothing except probably send my email address to more god damn spammers. So really, is there ANY way to stop this?

Yeah, the damn unsubscribe crap is notorious for sending your e-mail address to more goddamn spammers.

What you can do to stop it is to, um, change your e-mail address. Let it go, it’s a sinking ship. Be more careful with the next one. In fact, get two: one that you let out (signing up for web services and people you know will send you a lot of stupid forwards and such) and a second that you only keep among your closer contacts (and more trusted web services, like a bank or something).

Yeah, don’t unsubscribe - that way they know your address is “live” and guarantees more spam. You can use filters to block persistant spam. Block words like: “Viagra”, “XXX”. “Hot Teen Sluts”, “Mortgage”, “Credit rating”, “University Degree”, and so on. Also be very careful when signing up for websites, online games, stuff like that. I keep 2 active email addresses - 1 is my ISP mail - I keep that one safe, and 1 from Yahoo. Whenever I need to sign up for something online that requires an email address, I give out my Yahoo addy.

I own several domains, so I have an endless supply of unused email addys to sign up for things with. It’s nice.

Yes. If you are using Outlook/Outlook Express or AOL try “Postan Inspector” from Giant. It’s advantage is that you can ‘bounce’ spam back to the spammer so your address looks dead. McAfee Spamkiller is not as easy to use.

And you can get 500 disposable addresses from SPAMEX.

And you can always use Spamrecycle or Spamcop.

I heard several years ago that the domains no.com, no.org, and no.net have been reserved for just such a purpose, and I use me@no.com for signing up for things occasionally. Anyone know if this is still true?
