You are video taped many years ago making racist comments and the video must have been released by the NAACP and somehow Breitbart gets ahold of it and posts it online (an exerpt from what i’ve seen) and states his mission is to show the NAACP as racists?
First off, Breitbart, most of us already knew that about them, but kudos to the video because there are people that need to also know. But so fucking what? Racism only works if the people being targeted live in it. Actually the farmers she did help seemed prenty damned happy with the results.
She could have done more. Her words, not mine. And what the fuck was she talking about this “superior” shit? I didn’t hear anything she said that they may have said that made them act like they were “superior”. Sounds like you just have poor self esteem and assume everyone is or acts superior to you. I would have fired you just on that. But hey, it’s the federal government. If they fired everyone that was incompetent then who would be left? And fuck it, just for kicks let’s blame it all on Fox News and Beck.
So fuck you, Shirley Sherrod. You are a racist and incompetent. I guess in retrospect you should sue someone. You’ve had no awakening.
Edited to add: I hope she takes him to the fucking cleaners and puts him out of business. Unfortunately, there will probably be a segment of morons who will then make some sort of martyr out of him.
NOLA Cajun
I think you missed the rest of the video that provided context for what she was saying. She talked about how she overcame her own prejudice to help the farmer.
Ahh don’t bother… never let facts interrupt a perfectly insane rant. Dammit why didn’t my NAACP membership come with robes?? Did I not sign up for the crossburner level?
She told a long story about how when she first started helping poor farmers back in the 80’s she had a hard time working with whites because of the racism she and her family had personally experienced. However, after getting to know the white farmers she realized that her attitudes were wrong – that if you were poor and you needed help it didn’t matter what color your skin was. And so she worked just as hard to help the white farmers as the black ones – a fact that’s been testified to by the original white farmer she was reluctant to help.
Breitbart only showed the first part of the story where she talked about her initial negative feelings about the white farmers. He completely left out the bit where she explained how she overcame those feelings. He’s a complete scumbag and I hope she takes him to the cleaners.
And you’ve been played for a big sucker by some right-wing liar. Congratulations.
And she didn’t have just regular “black kid in the South during late Jim Crow” prejudice: her father was killed by a white man and an all-white grand jury refused to indict his killer for murder. By her own admission she had a MAJOR understandable-in-origin but irrational-in-practice dislike of white people, and thus at the time (when she was not a USDA employee) it probably wouldn’t have taken much for her to think a white person was acting ‘superior’. The entire point of her story is about how she had to wrestle with the demons of her own prejudice but in helping the couple she herself became a better person.
I seriously doubt there’s a person alive who couldn’t have a three minute twisted blurb make them into anything from a PETA activist to a neo-Nazi to a NAMBLA member.
You’re not only completely wrong, you’re at least a week behind the fucking news. It would behoove you, in future, to extract your head from your ass and actually get up to date before posting asinine shit like this.
Yeah, at first I thought that another video had been released or something. Then I realized that he was just referencing the story that was debunked a few days ago.
Please try to keep up, this was several news cycles ago, and here in the future we’ve already moved on. And by “moving on”, I mean everyone here in the future knows the tape was manufactured bullshit.
I mean seriously, you’re just now hearing of this?
Not just casual racisms either, her father had been murdered by a white farmer and the grand jury, consisting of all whites, refused to indict (I think that’s the right word).
I’m giving this a minus 2.
You try to rant and insult somebody and instead get the facts wrong enough demonstrate what a dipshit you are. I would have given you a lower score but I did laugh so that saved you from being deeper in the whole.
Since you got this so horribly wrong I’m going to suggest a title for your next rant.
I should go F@*& Myself
You should be pitting the US government for knee-jerk firing her before doing a little research.
Or you could pit Breitbart, the anti-particle to Michael Moore with the same style of selective editing and politically motivated character assassination.
How about pitting yourself for this pit thread? Oh, wait…
Since it’s reopened anyway, the most pittable thing to me about the whole (last week) affair is that you don’t even have to watch the entire 43 minute video to know that she wasn’t bragging about not helping white people, you only had to watch about 5-10 minutes- let’s say 15 minutes just to err on the side of Breitbart.
FIFTEEN MINUTES of video- that’s all you’d have to watch.
She was told to pull over and resign that night. It had been about 10 hours since it broke and not one person in the USDA evidently thought to watch FIFTEEN MINUTES of a video to see if this really warranted a firing. How fricking busy are they?
Breitbart’s not worth pitting other than to say ‘Damn I hope she gets him good’. He makes me dislike Dennis Miller even more for his assocation with him- hell, he makes me dislike Orson Bean (Breitbart’s father-in-law) for hawking his book on Breitbart’s websites. (And I hope Breitbart makes his buttmonkey O’Keefe take it without lube for the money he paid in legal bills over the LA office incident.)
