Kobal 2, I believe, implied that I would agree with the avowed racist who started the thread, which simply copnfused the OP, who had never heard of me. Just for the record, the racist who started this thread genuinely does NOT know me, and I would never associate with such people. In fact, as I have often pointed out, I am part black myself.
The identification with racism aparently stems from my warnings of the threats that militant Islam poses to our freedoms. Since Islam is not a race, I have yet to understand how that makes me a racist.
If someone can please show me where I have made actual racist comments, please do so. Otherwise shut your f***king mouths.
Meh. Racist is often used when the particular brand of prejudice is hard to name.
And, well, most Muslims are that way because their cultural and ethnic heritage. There’s a reason why people who are scared of Islamofascists are uneasy around people who wear turbans.
“Racism” and “racist” are little more than catch-all liberal insults these days, thrown around as a defense against criticism or skepticism of anyone or any group other than white Americans. If you oppose people coming into the country illegally, you’re a racist. If you favor military action in the Middle-East, you’re a racist. If you criticize music that encourages and glamorizes thuggish, misogynistic, and sometimes outright illegal behavior, you’re a racist. If you oppose revolving-door penal systems, you’re a racist. If you oppose Obama on government health care, you’re a racist. If Middle-Eastern guys with beards and turbans make you more nervous on an airplane than blond 17-year-old cheerleaders from Nebraska, you’re a racist. Etc., etc., ad nonsensicum. Hell, I hear Jeff Foxworthy is working on a *“You Know You’re A Racist If…” *album.
These terms have been slung around so indiscriminately and so inappropriately for so long that hardly anyone pays attention to them anymore. It’s kind of like when Lobohan and mhendo call people morons - it means nothing.
Let’s see if I can list all the things wrong with this thread, not including the typos.

[li]It’s not really possible to say things “behind someone’s back” when they’re in text on an internet site (and, obviously, discoverable by vanity search).[/li][li]This is very late because Kobal2 called Valteron a racist four months ago.[/li][li]Valteron says he got back from Germany three months ago but he’s all pissed off now.[/li][li]How was Kobal2 supposed to know Valteron was in Germany anyway? I don’t think he said anything about the trip until it was over.[/li][li]Most importantly, Valteron, why do you give a shit if someone called you a racist behind your back? Plenty of people have already said the same thing to your face. It happens every time you’re in the Pit.[/li][li]Technically Valerton is not a racist, he’s a nasty, bigoted, shrill, hypertensive moron. [/li][/ul]
And Carter has hardly been the only one, he was just the brightest light to pop up first on Google. There have been plenty of instances too on this very board, but, well, we have this search engine…
*And *the post he’s objecting to was a throwaway joke. The point which was to poke fun at the racist troll’s transparent… well, trolling. I could give less of a shit about Valteron, his feelings and the exact denomination of his views on race, religion, ethnicity and/or cake. He was just a handy prop.
So. All in all, I wish the one who took my Pit cherry had had more skill. Or cause to. I don’t even feel soiled or hate myself a tiny teensy bit :(.
You stated specifically that if you opposed the health care legislation you were labeled a racist. Carter claimed that much of the overall hysteria aimed at Obama was based in racism, which I don’t think any intelligent person can deny. The republican party is a safe haven for racists. Republicans make endless appeals to white anger over the “special treatment” minorities receive. You may have noticed this; it’s not a big secret.
The guy I think you’re referring to was Balbir Singh Sodhi.
As the murderer was a lunatic, I’m not sure if he was killed because the bigot who murdered him thought that he was a terrorist or simply that he was Middle Eastern.
No, the context of the post was that liberals often wrongfully assert that opposition to health care is based on racist opposition to Obama. And they do. There are thousands if not millions of instances of it on the web; and David Gregory very specifically raised the question with Obama in the interview I cited.
Not in the the post I made he didn’t. He was clearly cited by David Gregory as asserting that Republican opposition to the health care plan was based on anti-Obama racism.
I get fed up with having to reiterate things are right there in black and white on this board, often only two or three posts upthread.
What I’ve noticed is that this is a meme that liberals and Democrats love to spout, but which has little basis in reality. The first female justice was appointed by a Republican; the first black Supreme Court justice was appointed by a Republican; the first female Secretary of State was named by a Republican; the first Hispanic Attorney General was appointed by a Republican; many of the first female senators and governors were Republican, and obviously elected by Republicans.
I maintain, based upon personal experience and observation, that racism is just as prevalent, if not more so, among liberals and Democrats than is the case with Republicans, but they take pains to keep it hidden and reveal it only when they’re with people they can trust, or when they’re caught off-guard, such as was the case with the oh-so-liberal family of a good friend of mine began dating a black body-builder. Anecdotal? Yes. But we all base our opinions in large part on our own experiences, and my experiences along with my observations about what really goes in promoting minorities and women in government, tells me that people like you, who claim the Republican party is the party of racism, are as full of shit as a Christmas turkey. (You did notice I said “like you”? Right?)
In short, I wholeheartedly reject the notion that Republicans - and conservatives in general - are any more racist than Democrats, and I wouldn’t be surprised if in fact the opposite isn’t true.
This is generally how The Starving Artist Show gets rolling. Probably best to ignore him and let him go off and mutter to himself about the Liberal Menace and gangsta rap.
Here we go again with things in black and white seemingly being invisible. Blank Slate stated as though it were incontrovertible fact (it’s included in my post; I have no idea why you seem to have missed it):
And, as I believe I aptly demonstrated, this utter bullshit.
I know that people like you would prefer that I just sit by and let lies about conservatives and Republicans go unchallenged, all the better to reinforce your belief that you are better than the other side, but it just ain’t so. The worst bigots I’ve known in my life have been Democrats. The biggest hypocrites I’ve known in my life have been Democrats. And the people with the most chaotic and fucked up lives I’ve known in my life have been Democrats. So when I read bullshit like Blank Slate was barfing up, I’ve got to speak up in order to make sure it doesn’t pass as fact simply because no one has contested it.
