Fab Food

Well a new local Chinese restaurant has opened up, picked up the menu just now.
Amongst the delicacies is

Live Frog Porridge …18.00
Goose Intestines with Black Bean Sauce …18.00
Pig’s Blood Cube with Chives … 4.75
So what remarkable delicacies have you seen, and have you tried any of them?

Pig’s blood isn’t too bad. Sounds gross, to be sure, but it tastes like meat jello or tofu.

Where is this place, Bippy?

I’ve had the blood cubes at Vietnamese joints. They taste like red meat in jello form.

Live frog porridge? Sounds like a scene from The Triplets of Belleville!

Wow. When you said “new Chinese restaurant” I was wondering how much the buffet cost, and then I realized, oh. You live in a whole nother part of the country.

$18 is way too much for live frog porridge. Anything over $10 and you’re just paying for ambiance and advertising.

It is 1135 N. Lawrence Expressway, there always was a Chinese restaurant there, they have just gone through a 6month rebuild and new management. Place is called Saigon Seafood Harbor Restaurant.

I’m not sure if it can be recomended, but it was very buisy today (I ate in the Japanese place next door) this being the first week it has been open.
