Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers Stop Motion Animation Movie. This is so cool.

I had some FFFB book when I was a kid, they were left behind when one of my siblings moved away, but I was too young to quite understand what was going on in them. They ended up with one of my sisters.

If it ever comes to fruition, it could cure me of the malaise I’ve been feeling since watching “Corpse Bride.” [Yeah, we’re all really impressed, Tim, but why did you bother?]

Yeah, that’s definately a feline feeding bowl glimpsed through the leg of the ‘tea’ table; looks like we’ll be able to count on an appearance by Fat Freddy Scat!

Can’t wait…

And always remember: Peed Skills, Keed Spills, Skeed Pills…

My brother got all the Freak Brothers comics, but I did end up with the Fat Freddy’s Cat books.

This looks cool though. If they are faithful to the source it will be really cool.

Now if someone can come up with an Omaha the Cat Dancer movie, I’ll die happy.

Can it be true? Damn, that pic looks good!
Okay, raise your hands, who all wants brownies for the premiere?

I sure hope they don’t fuck this up.

Awesome. A few years back I bought remakes of all the comic books after a friend showed me one.

:raises hand:

Dayum! I hadn’t thought about the FFFB in eons. Now I can’t wait!

I have a question about the technology involved here… Are these computer-generated images, animated together, rather than, say, claymation, or Nightmare before Christmas- level puppetry? If it’s actual physical sets they’re building, dude, that’s some serious attention to detail just in that one set…

It’s stop-motion so I doubt it’s done by computers.

You can see an animator in the picture. He’s adjusting the door for a frame of (from the looks of the characters’ positions) closing.

Actually, it looks like he’s interacting with the characters.

According to someone on the AICN talkback, the guy peeking through the door is none other than Gilbert Shelton himself. A google image search on Shelton confirms a resemblance.

Yehyehyehyehyeh!

What would you prefer – stop-motion, cel animation, CGI, or live action?

The cockroach army was a hoot, too.

That sounds like one of the coolest t-shirts ever.
This thread has renewed my urge to get an F. Fredrick Skitty tattoo.
Unfortunately since most of my old comic books have long since disappeared, I no longer have the proper source graphic.

Collections are available on Amazon.

Post pics once you get the tat!

Heck, I’ve got a couple of FFFB comics on the bookcase. Want me to scare up an image?

Cool. Knowing that, and looking at the picture again, I wonder if it might be a finished frame from the film, rather than a production or promotional still.

If you’ve seen The Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb, you’ll know that Borthwick is good at using human beings as stop-motion models to create a pretty bizarre effect. The physical attitudes of the Freaks in that picture do look like they’re wigging out because a huge guy is trying to force his way into the apartment. The chain is even on the door.

Maybe a bad trip? “Yow! A wrathful creator is after us! Heavy!”

If you can find the title graphic from the F. Fredrick Skitty (if I remeber properly he’s wearing a fedora and sunglasses) I’d be totally interested. I’m serious about the tat, and want to get it before it’s Summer so I don’t have to wear long sleeves in the heat.

That looks fantastic! Larry, good call on explaining the animation. I agree 100%. Now, who’s going to do the voices!?
