Facebook admins are idiots!

So some asshat on one of my FB groups posted some racist shit.

He posted a picture of his TV. Netflix is on the screen with a Black Lives Banner posted at the top of the screen. Which apparently offends his delicate little eyes.

“Ethnic under achievers” is what he was calling them.
So I report to FB admins (I didn’t report to the group admin because he doesn’t give a shit).
FB responds: “We reviewed the photo. The photo doesn’t violate our standards…”

Well no shit Sherlock, I wasn’t reporting the photo, I was reporting the post!

More infuriating, there’s no way to respond to the FB admins. I tried to report it again to further explain what it is they need to look at but it wouldn’t let me.

Uhg!!

You should try reporting the whole group. I doubt they’ll do anything to the group itself but that should get them to review the posts therein.

I’m in a local progressive group. Someone shared a screen shot where a woman is raging… just RAGING on BLM. The person who shared this got TOSed. The original raging woman’s post is still there. There are all these outright white supremacist groups and pages and people praising Hitler on their public profiles and having their kids do the salute. Foul hateful comments are all over FB these days, especially since the protests started. They don’t get pulled. Stupid shit gets pulled.

Lately it’s really made no sense how the post removal works. It almost seems random. I got a ban for posting the image of that woman holding the“Arbeit Macht Frei” sign at a protest. Not the fake one. That would have made a little more sense. I was sharing it and posting my opinion about how awful it was. It’s been all over the news. It’s all over Facebook. It’s STILL all over Facebook. But I got a ban for “hate speech”. When I told someone in a group about it they all started sharing what they got banned for or just had removed. None of them violated the TOS.

Isn’t it becoming clear that Facebook is the “respectable” version of Stormfront?

It might be two years now, maybe longer. I reported an entire military FB group for extremely offensive racist slurs. The idiots making those posts included, of course, the group admin/host/whatever the fuck that’s called on FB. When I posted, “Can we manage to have this discussion without racist slurs?”, wow, did the shit hit the fan. Evidently, I’m un-American and anti-military, hate the flag, and am a snowflake to boot. So, of course, I got kicked out of the group. All I wanted was people to not use racist slurs to condemn bad people.

Just like I was, you’re dealing with people with small minds. Walk away and be happier for it.

I recently left Facebook, because of their catering and pandering to trumpies, right wing extremists, boogaloos, rightwing trolls, and Trump himself. I included a short screed against Zuckerman, and deleted my account.

Fuck Zuckerman and fuck Facebook.

That’s why I quit. No regrets at all. Not seeing that shit probably helps my blood pressure.

Zuckerman? Mortimer Zuckeman?

I’m a bit of a prepper, nothing extreme mind you, but I enjoy the technical aspects of it. I cannot think of any prepper group or prepper supply/info group now that is not whole hog into worship of the orange turd and the others you mention.

It’s really sad and I might have to block some of the best info sources because of the political taint today.

Update: I went back and reported the group as Skywatcher suggested (Thanks).
I don’t even think my complaint was seen by a real person. The response I got back was just a standard, boilerplate response: “We looked at the group. They do not appear to be in violation.”

They made absolutely zero references to any of the language I used in my complaints.

This is the straw. I’m done.

Joey B has drafted a petition to Facebook to ensure it’s policies against false viral info. Here’s his FB post:

“Did you know that Donald Trump can say anything he wants on Facebook – and pay to ensure that his wild claims reach millions of voters? And now, SuperPACs and other dark money groups are following his example.
Trump and his allies have used Facebook to spread misleading information about voting - spreading falsehoods about how to vote and questioning the legitimacy of our democratic process.
Meanwhile, Facebook has not taken action even when the content puts our very democracy at risk. That’s why we’re releasing an open letter to Facebook, calling on the company to change its policies. Will you be one of the 286 more supporters we need to add your name today?”

Last sentence confuses me. Hope his account hasn’t been trolled by the huskies too.

There are accounts that are reposing Individual 1’s posts and have been suspended for advocating violence.

Unless it’s outright spam or I’m reporting to the group admin, I don’t even bother anymore. Hell, I’ve dumped FB for everything except my two local neighborhood pages.

If they’d move on to another platform, I’d move with them. It’s long past time.

Oops, Zuckerberg.

Well you know who I mean.

This.

Don’t like Facebook?

Stop supporting them just like SteveG1, just like I did 2 years ago. Get your friends to switch over to a different platform, or just go back to email. Use Reddit for forums. Use Twitter.

Start neighborhood Twitter and/or Reddit.

Use Twitter? Fuck no! Twitter lost all pretense at being of any worth when they let–and continue to let–that dman dirty lying sack of dung in the White House get away with the bullshit they let him post in obvoius violaiton of the platform’s rules.

I’m not saying it’s without it’s flaws, but it’s at least beginning to acknowledge a Trump problem.

Evidently, Facebook prefers to fire employees who point out that Trump is a problem.

Is it a private or public group? I belong to a private Facebook group that shares offensive humor (not racist stuff, but some fairly awful offensive humor). Occasionally someone reports something that is horribly offensive, but usually nothing happens because it is a private group and the offended party knew that coming in.
