Weirdly, when I was a Christian way back in the 1960s, I don’t remember anyone blaming natural disasters on the Creator’s unhappiness with some segment of Humanity. As far as I remember, we sent food, medicine and assistance along with Bibles and evangelists. The former was emphasized because these folks (think the Biafra disaster as an example) were DYING. It is hard to ‘save’ someone who doesn’t understand your language and is in the midst of organ failure.
I have always wondered what happened to Christianity between the mid 1960s and now.
It used to be a gentle and loving religion (at least in my small community).
Now, it is synonymous with hatefulness and cruelty.
