Logged in. Do not see who is online that I might chat with. How do I reveal that feature?

Do you not see a list of people at all or do you just not see who is online?
Are you using the FB app or just going to the website?
And, is this something that you had and lost? Facebook is perpetually twiddling with things. Not long ago, they did something that made Safari on IOS prone to crashing and have since fixed it, but there’s no telling what they’ll do next.
No list at all. Tried both App and web link.
No idea how to find the Contacts list.
I don’t know if it’s the same on iPhone as it is iPad, but for me to get to my chat list, I have to hit the three horizontal bars icon in the top left corner, and then I can scroll down to “Apps”, where there is a “Chat” menu item.
Yeah, my chat list all over the right hand column on my iPad 2…
No three horizontal lines. I do see Apps, but Chat is not listed.

Can you take a screen shot of what you see?
If you’re so inclined, Id be curious to see if yours looks the same. Click the lock button and the home button at the same time. Then use a computer to redact the right parts, so you aren’t showing your personal info all over the interwebz!
If not, I can try a snap of mine tomorrow after class.
On my iPhone, I can either:
- Hit the button at top right that shows a person and three lines.
- Swipe from right to left from (pretty much) any screen.
- Hit the button at top left that shows three lines (or swipe from left to right), go to Apps, go to Chat.
I don’t know if any of this is different on the iPad. I might recommend updating your facebook app from the App Store if you haven’t lately.
It looks to me like the iPad app doesn’t have chat on the side there with Apps, so that’s not unusual, I guess.
