My soon to be ex-wife has totally blocked me from her profile. Far enough that I can’t even search for her. What I’d like to know is if she has blocked me so I can’t see her, will she be able to view my stuff that I have public or would I have to block her as well? I don’t plan to go that route, but I’m just curious.
It’s one-sided. She has the same access to you as any other user.
This is incorrect. When you block another user, the block works both ways. They don’t show up in search results for you, their posts are hidden in other people’s comment threads, etc.
Now, at any time, she could unblock you and see everything again, and you would obviously get no notification of this. There’s then a 24-hour wait before she can reblock you. I have recent personal experience with this in case anyone is wondering.
If you want to prevent this, you can still block the other person, even though you can’t get to her page. Just go to Accounts > Privacy Settings, and click the link under Block Lists. Blocking by email is better, but the name should be sufficient.
Also, the limit seems to have been extended to 48 hours. (I checked by blocking my father.)
Did she block you or just make herself private enough so you can’t find her? I don’t think I show up on searches, but I haven’t blocked anyone. I just have really tight privacy settings.
I have my ex blocked and it’s two way. I can’t search for him, click though links to his user page, or see his posts on our mutual friends profiles. I like it this way.
No she blocked me personally as I’ve had other people search for her and they can find her. I guess that means that she’s not going to see the photos of the kids either.
