Facebook question.

Ok, so when a person sends a PM to another person on Facebook who isn’t on their friends list and have had no contact thru FB at all, the message is filtered into another, separate folder titled “message requests”. This separates these messages from all the other messages a person gets on FB. Unless someone specifically checks their “message requests” folder (and many people aren’t even aware of it), these messages will likely never be read by the intended recipient.

My question is, if you become FB friends with someone after you’ve already sent them a message that was diverted into this request folder, does that message stay in the folder meant for non-friend, unknown persons messages? Or does it move to the regular messages?

We could run an experiment if you’d like.

Send me a Facebook PM.

I know that if you respond to the message, it will move to the regular folder regardless of whether you later become their friend. But I’m not sure if it will move automatically upon friending someone, if you haven’t responded to the message.
